Hello everybody, welcome to the 9-day crash course on Meraki APIs. Congrats on taking the first step!
You don’t need to have any prior experience with programming to follow this course as we’re going to be introducing the absolute basics of Python and APIs. By the end of this course you should be quite comfortable writing your own scripts!
Here’s an outline of the plan we’re going to follow:
Day 1 — Basics of APIs
Day 2 — Introduction to the Meraki Dashboard API
Day 3 — Introduction to Postman
Day 4 — Programming with Python
Day 5 — Using Python Concepts
Day 6 — Packages and Virtual Environments
Day 7 — Connecting to Meraki
Day 8 — Making Changes to Meraki
Day 9 — Automate Network Provisioning in Meraki
As you can see, we’ll be taking small steps every day. We’re going to spend the first few days simply understanding APIs, then we’ll dedicate some time to learning Python, followed by using these tools to interact with Meraki. On the last day, you’ll write your own script to automate the provisioning of multiple networks on Meraki.
I highly recommend following the prescribed course plan and going one day at a time. If you wish to learn more, there’s plenty of resources available online where you can dig deeper into the topics we discuss every day.
If you do find some of the topics to be too difficult, feel free to spend some extra days on them. If you find them too easy then feel free to skip ahead. Just be sure to come back to this daily to keep your momentum. We’ll be sending you an email every day to remind you!
Keep an eye on your inbox as you will receive the first email in the next 5 minutes (and don't forget to check the Spam folder). In the meantime, you can get started by going through this article on the Meraki APIs.
I’m excited to have you on board for this journey!
Best,
Ali Imran
